Nico is mainly known for her Black Metal influenced Dark Piano project “Ocinn”. Formed in 2007 in southern Germany as a solo project, Ocinn released her debut album “l” in 2020. The music creates a unique and hypnotizing atmosphere with melancholic, gloomy but still romantic piano tunes which bring the feeling of the rough and cold Black Metal sound into Dark Piano music. Since her debut album, she has traced her way by releasing “The Forest” in February 2022 followed by a trilogy of old songs written and recorded by Ocinn between 2007 and 2017. This Tryptich, “Songs from the Past I – III” was released between May and September 2024. All song titles are in Ladin, an old dialect spoken in Northern Italy, Ocinn’s second mother tongue. Besides her solo project “Ocinn”, Nico has several collaborations with Bands from the Metal scene. Moreover, she acts as a guest musician frequently on different albums within the scene.
Active as a passionate bassist, Nico is open to every kind of music genre. Chances were given to contribute as a studio musician or to be part in different bands from several genres.
Nico plays a Cortex Napoleon Deluxe Fretless with four strings and a PJ reverse EMG 35P4 pickup.
